Susan Hunter Guise
oil on Terraskin® (mounted on cradled panel) 2018
8 x 10 in (21.5 x 25.4 cm)
Artist’s Notes: I started this painting in mid-morning, on a bright and sunny day. As I was working on this painting, the cows and their calves were coming into the barn from a nearby field, mooing loudly!
Grenfel Road is a sideroad, parallel to Crossland Rd, north of Barrie, Ontario. It’s not as busy a road as other major routes. I was perched on the shoulder of the road, just above a steep incline, and had to be careful that my kit of brushes and other materials did not fall down the hill. I spent about 2.5 hours on site doing the first layer, and completed the painting in studio.
Location: this barn is on private property, on one of the properties owned by Harris Farms, near Crossland Rd and Sunnidale Rd in Springwater Township, Ontario, Canada.
Medium: Oil on Terraskin® (a tree-free paper made of rock and polymers)
Ready-to-hang or add your favourite frame (comes mounted on cradled panel)
Authenticity certificate provided
