This work was selected for IN SITU 2018, a multi arts festival at the Small Arms Society Inspection Building in November 2018, as part of the Canadian Glaze Oil Society’s exhibition.
Artist’s Notes: This painting is from a series done from visits to Port Dover, Ontario in 2017.
Port Dover is a small town on the north side of Lake Erie, most famous for its fresh Perch suppers, and Friday the 13th Hells Angels gatherings (where the town is closed to everyone but motorcyclists). We go there to visit the town, and to take elderly friends to the Lighthouse Theatre, which is a small but popular playhouse near the main beachfront area.
Location: this is looking out from near the lighthouse pier on a cold May day in 2017, where the only activity we saw were seagulls searching the frothy surf for a meal. The lake itself beyond the beach was a beautiful turquoise green in colour.
Medium: Oil on Terraskin® (a tree-free paper made of rock and polymers)
Ready-to-hang or add your favourite frame (comes mounted on cradled panel)
